SMU was established on 12 January 2000 and is located in the downtown area of Singapore. It has a total enrollment of about 10,000 undergraduates and postgraduates, six schools and over 30 research institutes and centers of excellence. SMU offers a wide range of bachelor's, master's and phD degree programmes and aims to generate leading-edge research with global impact and produce broad-based, creative and entrepreneurial leaders for the knowledge-based economy.
